And So My Blogging Journey Begins....

And so here I sit, at 1:30 AM, deciding to create a blog. Why? Why not? My kids do so many funny things, and I want to share those funny things with my family - all of whom are far, far away. Now I have a spot to post all of the funny things they say and do, with pictures to go with it! I am also going to want to share my successes with The Purple Alligator Bow-tique. This is the perfect place to do that! Yesterday we went to the Strawberry Festival. We put the kids in their sunglasses, gave them each their water bottle, and off we went. We didn't spend much time there, as Chris was not too interested at looking at all of the craft vendors. I was looking very closely to see who was selling hair bows, and did they look as good as mine. Nope. No hairbow ladies! As I meandered up and down the rows of crafters, I was acccosted by a Mary Kay lady. Apparently the fact that I sell Avon did not deter her from trying to get me to fill out a raffle ticket. We went over to the kids' area, and Isabella saw the pony rides. She was so excited! She could not wait for her ride. As we stood in line, I asked Hunter if he wanted to go for a pony ride. I could not even get the words out before he told me no. As Isabella's turn came around, Chris went to put her on the pony's back, ironically, the pony's name was Princess (how appropriately fitting), and Isabella took this superhuman hold of Chris' neck. WOULD NOT let go. Started shaking she was so nervous. So, I told Chris to move her to the side, that we'd try Hunter. Well, my future zookeeper was fine -- much to my amazement. I sat him on the horse's back, stood on the other side to hold him, and off we went. (I must interject here that I am petrified of horses...can't explain why, just am., so walking next to this beast was quite a breakthrough for me!) We went around the corral 4 times. He did so well, I was so proud of him! He looks like such a little peanut on that horse!
After the horse ride, it was time for strawberry smoothies! When the kids saw them, they could not contain their excitement. Frozen fruity drinks with a straw...is anything better than that?
As we left the festival, we decided to go to Wendy's before going home so we could get some lunch.
We'll just call this, "Oh, those funny things that kids say..."
So we're sitting at Wendy's, eating our lunch, and a guy with dark sunglasses, a black w/ very dark red bandana print do rag, olive green & tan tie dye shirt w/ black wings on the front and back, black jeans and a chain wallet sits across from us. (Do you see where I'm going with this? I'm starting to laugh already!!) Isabella looks at him, looks at us, looks back and points at him, and VERY LOUDLY says, "Look! That man's a pirate! Do you see that man overdare? That man's a pirate!" I'm horrified, but trying to extinguish a hysterical oh-my-God-I'm-so-embarrassed laugh, because how dText Coloro you stop an almost 3 year old from sharing her thoughts out loud? Chris looks over at the man (who is not super young, maybe 35 at the very oldest), he smiles at us, smiles at Isabella and says, "Almost, honey." and continues on to eat his lunch. When he left and went outside we could see him getting on his motorcycle, and she goes on to say, "Do you see that pirate man? He's getting on his motorcycle! Bye pirate man!"
Until next time,
Laura
